MA130: Your claim contains incomplete and/or invalid information, and no appeal rights are afforded because the claim is unprocessable

This is one of the most important RARCs to recognize: the claim was rejected as unprocessable, not denied on the merits, so there are no appeal rights. The only fix is to correct the error and submit a new claim.

Corrective actions

  1. 1

Identify the specific missing or invalid data element

Check for an accompanying, more specific remark code (such as MA27, MA36, or MA61) that names the exact field that was incomplete or invalid.

  2. 2

Submit a new, corrected claim rather than an appeal

Since unprocessable claims carry no appeal rights, correct the identified field and resubmit as a fresh claim within the timely filing window rather than filing a redetermination.
